The 2024 JONDE concert tour kicks off
We could not start the new year any better than with the 2024 Meetings and Concert Tour of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE), in a collaboration that was launched last autumn to promote the musical and artistic excellence of young Spanish musicians and composers.
One of the focal points of this synergy, in addition to a program of 30 annual scholarships for young instrumentalists who are members of the orchestra, is to promote the Reina Sofia Prize in Music Composition and to take it to the next level nationwide by including each edition’s winning work into the program of one of the JONDE’s annual meetings.
We are particularly excited to share this year’s artistic program and announce that Unda Maris, a work by composer Javier Quislant, winner of the XL Reina Sofia Prize in Music Composition, is the first to be included in the repertoire of the tour this January, with concerts in Logroño, Zaragoza, Madrid and Torrelavega (Cantabria), under the baton of conductor Pablo Heras-Casado.
