We promote emerging talent through the Extraordinary Prize of the Tenor Viñas Contest 2026

The Fundació Ferrer de Música reaffirms its commitment to young talent through the Extraordinary Prize of the Fundació Ferrer de Música, linked to the prestigious Tenor Viñas Contest. This award aims to deepen the study of vocal technique and support the artistic development of young singers at a key stage in their careers.

Within the framework of the 63rd edition of the competition, the international jury announced on January 16, 2026, the six singers awarded this prize: Andrés Sánchez-Joglar (tenor), Rajiv Cerezo Chugani (baritone), Inés López Fernández (mezzo-soprano), Laia Vallés (soprano), Rosa Maria Abella (soprano) and Inés Lorans (soprano).

The prize offers these six young Spanish singers the opportunity to receive high-level training at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The awardees have already taken part in a first week of masterclasses with Italian baritone Roberto Frontali, who delivered seven individual vocal technique sessions from March 2 to 8, 2026. This training will continue with a second week of intensive work at the Liceu in the coming months.

Founded in 1963 in memory of tenor Francesc Viñas, the Tenor Viñas Contest has established itself as one of the most prestigious opera competitions in the world, attracting young talents from across the globe.

Through this initiative, the Fundació Ferrer de Música demonstrates a strong commitment to training, excellence and the promotion of new generations of singers, actively contributing to the future of opera.
