Expanding the Reach of the Lied the Future Programme

Thanks to the patronage of the Fundació Ferrer de Música, the Lied the Future programme, promoted by the Associació Franz Schubert, is strengthening its scope by expanding to ten the scholarships available for the 2026 edition.

The Lied the Future programme aims to support young lied talents by offering them top-level training with renowned professors and the opportunity to perform at leading local and international festivals and venues.
Now, Lied the Future consolidates its European projection and reinforces its commitment to the training and professional development of young artists by, for the first time, opening the call to singers and pianists from all over Europe. The call will be open from 26 October to 10 December 2025.

Since its creation, Lied the Future has established itself as a benchmark platform bridging the pedagogical and professional fields. Participants work with distinguished masters such as Matthias Goerne, Christiane Karg, Wolfram Rieger, and Dorothea Roschmann, and perform concerts as part of the Schubertíada de Vilabertran as well as in other local and international festivals and institutions.

The programme applies a learning by doing methodology, offering a practical and real learning experience that facilitates the integration of young musicians into the professional lied circuit. More than forty young performers who have taken part in the programme continue to develop active and internationally recognised careers.

At the Fundació Ferrer de Música, we are proud to contribute to this project, which fully shares our mission: to promote musical excellence and social transformation through music.
