Opening the path to the future of Lied

The Lied the Future program, created by the Associació Franz Schubert and supported by the sponsorship of the Fundació Ferrer de Música, is an initiative aimed at mentoring and promoting emerging duos of singers and pianists specializing in Lied and art song. The program combines high-level training with performances on prestigious stages, connecting learning directly with professional practice.

Participants are selected through an open call and receive masterclasses from internationally renowned teachers, while presenting their work at festivals, concert halls, and recognized institutions, creating a natural bridge between the educational and professional spheres. Over the years, the program has become a European reference platform, helping launch the careers of numerous artists who now enjoy active and recognized professional trajectories.

Thanks to the support of the Fundació Ferrer de Música, Lied the Future expands its reach and strengthens a learning by doing methodology, providing a practical, real, and transformative experience for the new generations of musicians dedicated to Lied.
