Reina Sofia Prize in Music Composition, made up of Santiago Lanchares, Ramon Humet, Javier Quislant, Jes\u00fas Rueda, and presided over by Mart\u00edn Matalon, reached its verdict.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f5a53bc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f5a53bc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>After two days of intense deliberation and a detailed analysis of the seventy scores submitted to the competition, the jury agreed to award the Reina Sofia Prize in Music Composition 2023 to <strong><em>Concierto de los elementos: I&amp;II<\/em><\/strong>, by composer <strong>Fabi\u00e0 Santcovsky Reschini<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The prize, awarded annually since 1982 by the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation to promote the composition of new orchestral works, enjoys great international prestige thanks to the <strong>involvement of Her Majesty Queen Sofia<\/strong> and to the <strong>largest economic endowment in Europe, worth \u20ac100,000<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The award-winning work will be premiered and performed by the Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Radiotelevisi\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola on October 11, at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, in front of Her Majesty Queen Sofia and Sergi Ferrer-Salat, the chairman of the Foundation.<\/p><p>As part of the award, Fabi\u00e0 Santcovsky will also be <strong>appointed composer of the <\/strong><strong>Xarxa de M\u00fasiques a Catalunya<\/strong>, which involves the commissioning of two chamber music works for two different ensembles to be performed during the Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya concert series next season.<\/p><p>Finally, <strong><em>Concierto de los elementos: I&amp;II<\/em><\/strong> will be performed by the musicians of the <strong>Joven Orquesta Nacional de Espa\u00f1a (JONDE)<\/strong>, the most important youth orchestra in Spain, <strong>in its 2025 program of tours and annual meetings<\/strong>, with the aim of disseminating the award nationwide.<\/p><p><strong><u>About Fabi\u00e0 Santcovsky Reschini<\/u><\/strong><\/p><p>Born in 1989 in Barcelona. In his home city he studied with Gabriel Brn\u010di\u0107 and Mauricio Sotelo, and in Stuttgart and Berlin with Marco Stroppa and Daniel Ott. He has written three chamber operas, commissioned by institutions and festivals such as the Teatro Argentino de La Plata, the Munich Bienniale, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu; several orchestral works commissioned and performed by the OBC in Barcelona, the SWR Stuttgart Sinfonieorchester and the Tokyo Philharmonic; and chamber works commissioned by renowned festivals such as the Aldeburgh Festival or the New Talents Bienniale in Cologne.<\/p><p>In 2015 he received the 2nd Prize of the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award in Japan and in 2016 the Wardwell Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In 2021 he was young artist in residence at the Berlin Academy of Arts. Since 2022 he has collaborated in the organization of the new Encuentros de Pamplona, in the field of music.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
